Public beta · 11 September 2026

Terms and Conditions

These are draft beta terms, not a public-launch legal pack. The operator’s full legal identity, privacy contact and retention policy still need completing and professional review before public launch.

What the service provides

Compare Your Build provides early project estimates for UK homeowners and optional requests for help. The team receives these requests first to assess the brief and discuss the next service. Estimates are free in this beta. Sending a request does not appoint a builder or designer, create a construction contract, submit a planning application or guarantee quotes, professional availability or coverage in a particular area.

Planning and costs

Planning results are preliminary checks against selected rules for the property’s UK nation, based on your answers. Outside England, automated dimension checks currently cover single-storey rear extensions only; other projects are directed to an individual review. Results are not a council decision, legal advice or a complete assessment of your property. A professional or the relevant authority must confirm measurements, planning history, rights and restrictions before work starts. A document marked as existing is self-reported, not verified.

Cost ranges and per-square-metre figures are indicative modelled allowances, not offers or fixed prices. Read the assumptions and exclusions shown with your result. Local authority charges are only confirmed when a verified source is identified; national application fees do not include all local services.

Your contact choices

If you actively request a designer, builder, engineer or technical service, you ask the team at Compare Your Build to contact you about that project using your selected method. We will ask before sharing your brief with outside professionals. Agreeing to these terms is not consent to marketing.

If you select “No sales calls or follow-up—just my estimate”, no quote request or professional-sharing request is created. You can save or print your result. Estimate email delivery requires a sending service to be connected. The saved-project page shows whether it is available; it does not report success when unavailable. A requested estimate email, when available, will not sign you up for sales follow-up.

How this beta uses your details

The estimate requires your project address and full postcode. Continuing the property step sends the postcode to Postcodes.io and, for an England postcode, the government’s Planning Data service to identify the likely planning authority. These services do not receive your typed street address, phone number or email from this site. A postcode match does not verify the individual address or its planning constraints.

Your unsaved answers and selected documents remain in memory while you navigate this tab. Choosing Save my extension project creates an account-owned project record. Uploading a document from that project stores it privately. Saving alone does not create a help request. A submitted request stores your project answers, reported progress, address, supplied contact details, preferences, cost-model version, accepted terms version and acceptance time. We recheck the postcode’s nation and region when saving; if that service is unavailable, the enquiry is marked provisional. Optional PDFs and photos are stored privately with their category and an unreviewed status. File-type checks are not an antivirus scan, professional review or confirmation of approval. We do not automatically send submitted requests to outside professionals.

This beta has no advertising pixels or marketing automation. Closing or refreshing the page clears unsent answers; it does not delete a request you already submitted. For queries about a project, use the Contact page and include its reference. See the dedicated Privacy and Cookies pages for the current storage and access details.

Saved projects and quote comparisons

Each service request has its own brief and status. The authorised team can review a project once help is requested. Original quotations remain private and downloadable. Structured breakdowns may be entered by a homeowner or the team; a reviewed breakdown is not verification of a provider or a guarantee of workmanship. Check scope, VAT, allowances and the original terms before appointing anyone. There are no sponsored rankings or provider subscriptions in this pilot.

Your responsibilities and rights

Use information you are authorised to provide, avoid photos containing other people’s personal information, and obtain any professional checks your project requires. Nothing in these beta terms removes statutory consumer rights or excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
